Cognitive Processing Therapy
Cognitive Processing Therapy
$150-200 per session (typically covered by insurance)
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is offered by Catherine and John at Inner Circle Mental Health, providing specialized care for clients dealing with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Developed in the 1980s, CPT is a highly effective, cognitive-based approach endorsed by the VA National Center for PTSD.
Typically consisting of 10-15 structured sessions, CPT helps clients identify “stuck points”—negative thought patterns that can hold them in trauma. With Catherine or John as your guide, you’ll use Socratic questioning to reframe these thoughts, helping you adopt more positive, adaptive perspectives.
The treatment includes worksheets and daily “homework” exercises (about 15 minutes per day) to reinforce progress between sessions. Clients can opt for weekly sessions or a more frequent schedule to complete the program sooner.
